What is a container anyway? When we speak about a container I visualize just a"container"

Yes that's right. You can close it you know and then you can run a program.

Because this subject "container" is passing by more often and now I want to understand it better.

It is uh... a shelter a shell a shell it is a container that if you it means in linux you can run windows virtually and then you could you get a kind of virtual hard disk in linux for the windows a shelter a windows shelter hey when you look into your computer from outside then it pretends like your computer is running on windows just on c drive where is windows and blablablablabla as windows should look. But if windows - you can perform certain changes in windows also you know you can do anything with windows! However, what windows CAN'T is going outside that SHELL, outside the container so there is no way for you to make changes outside the container. You can only do something inside the container. and if you turn it off that program then all the settings you have made in principle they are gone again and then you restart it again on windows it is just windows without being hacked for example.
